A major Japanese securities group sought advice from Guildhall via its London banking subsidiary on the strategic options for the further development of their over-the-counter derivatives business.
Guildhall prepared a fully researched paper for management in London and Tokyo that explored a numbers of strategic options. This embraced a feasibility study and business plan for the creation of a special purpose booking unit, including several alternative capital and guarantee structures.
Report preparation also required meetings with London-based regulators and an assessment of systems requirements and prospective solutions and suppliers.
